Balmain Spring 2011 Ready To Wear

Firstly, let's make it clear - I love Balmain. It's just one of those brands for me when I can say "oh I'd totally wear that" about every single outfit. Amazing.
The collection was very rebellious. It's like a big fashion and punk-rock mash-up. A lot of leather, jeans, distressing, bleaching, studs, glitter and safety pins. They also had used the stars-and-stripes motive which in my opinion adds a lot to the items. I was somewhat surprised how they had brought back the legendary three quarter pants. I've never been a fan of those to be honest but Balmain managed to change my mind about that. Another good thing about this collection is that it's super DIY-able - you can create similar studded leather jackets and distressed jeans easily at home.
In conclusion I found this collection very inspiring and I give it a big thumbs up.

25.03.2011

Although I don't have a fashion post for today (well.. yesterday) I still decided to do a little update for you.
It was my birthday yesterday on the 24th, happy birthday to me! Yay. That's why I didn't have time to do a proper blog post. I got a few gifts and also my favourite perfume from my boyfriend and I had a plan to take a picture and everything but I still have no idea how to upload pictures from my phone to my computer (and believe me I have tried very many times..) and I don't have one of those super-awesome-HD-cameras either and the one I have doesn't really take as good pictures as I'd like so yeah.. I don't know what I'm going to do about that.
Anyhow, I kinda noticed how I've done a lot of "catwalk" posts lately and not so many "glitter" ones if you know what I mean. Originally I thought that my blog is going to be about beauty and fashion and now it's starting to look like it's a lot more about fashion and not about beauty at all. Not good. But I'm also not very sure if I should start doing makeup tutorials (with my horrible camera) or post inspiring makeup pictures? Or if anyone has an even better idea or any other suggestions then please let me know.
Overall everything is going great so far. I've already had my first blog-drama and also gotten more viewers which is super positive. Most of them just pass by but that's still okay with me :) I'm still setting everything up here but I guess the blog is ready for the most part now and all I have to do is postpostpost.
But I guess that's it for now, enjoy the upcoming Spring and see you next time!

D&G Spring 2011 Ready To Wear

Dolce and Gabbana's Spring RTW collection definitely had a garden party feel to it. Even the catwalk was decorated like a garden. The collection itself was simple but totally suitable for Spring time. The main emphasis was on colours and flower prints and all the outfits were very airy and ruffley. Also the symbolic "picnic patterns" were combined into the collection - square patterns and crochet textiles. On some of the outfits I could definitely notice some jeans detailing and I don't know if D&G teamed up with Disney but I couldn't help but to notice Snow White on a few of the t-shirts. Also some of the shoes looked a little like rubber boots. I personally adored the accessories this time: big sunglasses, huge handbags and the shoes were also super cute. Overall I liked how the collection had the garden party feeling all trough out to the end. Lovely.

Street style: fur coats

Earlier today I was cleaning up my closet and I found my old fur coat. I remember the day my mum got it for me and I hated it so bad. Now on the other hand I adore it to guts. I feel like my mum was so ahead of fashion that I simply couldn't worship the coat enough at that time. But what I'm trying to say is that I fell in love with fur again although it's almost Spring and I'm going to have to wait until it gets cold again to wear my coats. I'm still going to do an inspirational post about fur right away just so show you what's exactly on my mind.
Enjoy!

Christian Dior Spring 2011 Haute Couture

I've been eyeing this collection for quite a while now and I finally came to conclusion that I HAVE TO make a post about it and share it with you. It's my duty to show this amazingness to you who might have not seen it yet.
The first time I saw this collection I was.. I was blown away. I think the right word to describe it is FIERCE. Plus I'm absolutely in love with the make up the models have. (I'll show you pictures in a sec).
The collection overall is very feminine and bold. I love how they've used so many layers, structures and materials in one collection. The colours are very versatile - there are brighter colours and there are calmer and more pastel colours. No neons this time. A lot of glitter detailing. And of course - peeptoe shoes. They ARE the thing this season. Mark my words.
Let's get to the pictures now, shall we?
