Hello my sweethearts!
It's my last week of schoolwork and then it's pretty much Summer holidays for me. How exciting is that? I'll promise to post here a lot often. How've you all been? I hope you're doing good.
Actually the reason for this post is that the number of visits my blog gets per day has been growing rapidly. I want to greet all my new followers and also people who happen to stumble by randomly. I also want to encourage you to leave me feedback. What do you like and dislike about my blog? Any tips? I'd love to hear your thoughts ;)
As I already mentioned (and you probably have noticed as well..) Summer's almost here and the shops and malls are stuffed with all kinds of colourful clothes. Sadly the long and cold wintertime has affected me enough that I'm still stuck with my blacks and dark blues. I think I'm in desperate need of an elaborated shopping trip? Hence why I've done so many inspirational posts lately.. I'll also try to keep in mind to share my buys with you if I manage to find something breathtaking.
That's all I really wanted to say. Thanks again for taking your time to visit my blog

x.

Chasing mermaids

Last night I spontaneously decided to paint my nails in some other colour than classical pink or red. I stumbled upon my last Summer's favourite nailpolish - teal 'mermaid' blue. I got so inspired by that amazing colour that I decided to do a post inspired by mermaids and oceans. Enjoy!

Lumene Natural Code Mascara review

I bought my Lumene Natural Code Eye Dramatizer Volume-Maximizing Mascara almost a month ago now and I've been using it pretty much every day. It cost around 5-6€ and it was on sale so I spontaneously decided to give it a try. I mean the name of it sounds promising, right? At least that's what I thought..
On the tube it says:
Impressive volume with Fluffy Brush.
Conditioned lashes with natural arctic plantain.
Paraben-free.
 What's good about this mascara:
- gives a nice deep black colour
- good quality fluffy brush
- doesn't clump

What's bad about this mascara:
- doesn't give enough volume and length (at least for my liking)
- smudges during the day
- smudges really bad when in contact with water (rain, tears..)

It wasn't an expensive product so I don't regret buying it money wise but honestly I'm pretty disappointed in this mascara. I really wanted it to work. Especially as it's supposed to be paraben-free and condition my lashes. It may be good for my lashes but that's about it because it didn't do what I expected it to - lengthen and/or volumize them. I'm probably going to use up this tube but never re-purchase it again.
I give it 2/5 Glitter-stars.

The Royal Wedding

The legendary wedding took place on the 29th April when Prince William, Duke of England, married Kate Middleton. The wedding was absolutely amazing. Kate's dress was designed by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen, reportedly in consultation with Middleton herself. I personally was hoping for a more bold and posher dress but the one she was wearing was perfect for her. Simple yet classy and feminine.

More detailed overview of the dress from Clarence House:
“The lace applique for the bodice and skirt was handmade by the Royal School of Needlework, with individual flowers hand-cut from lace (in shapes of roses, thistle, daffodils and shamrocks). The dress is made of ivory and white satin gazar with a skirt in the shape of an opening flower. The satin bodice, narrowed at the waist and padded at the hips in a McQueen signature, is based on Victorian corsetry. The back is finished with 58 gazar and organza covered buttons.
The veil, made of ivory silk tulle with a trim of hand-embroidered flowers, is held in place by a 1936 Cartier tiara, lent to Ms. Middleton by the Queen. (It was bought for her mother by the Duke of York and presented to Queen Elizabeth on her 18th birthday.) Ms. Middleton’s earrings—shaped like oak leaves with a pave set diamond acorn suspended in the center—are by Robinson Pelham. The shoes are also by McQueen.”
A great outfit choice in my opinion. Kate also did her wedding makeup by herself. She kept it simple - neutral grey smoky eye with light pink lips and cheeks.
I can't help but to wonder if she will become a style icon in the nearer future. Someone whose outfits women will look up to and get inspiration from? We'll see. I think I personally will go with a yes.
I've also heard people talking that Kate's dress was inspired by Grace Kelly's wedding dress. I do see the similarities but if it's actually true or just a coincidence, no official confirmation.
Overall I think it was a true fairytale wedding. I must admit - it even brought a little tear to my eye because everything was so adorable. And did you know that Kate didn't do the tossing of the bride's bouquet but instead she placed the flowers on the crave of William's mother Princess Diana in honour of her. I find that to be so heart warming.

My congratulations to the freshly married couple!
